The mother of murdered teenager Brianna Ghey has said a ban on mobile phones in schools would have given her daughter “a better chance in life”.Esther Ghey has written to the government to call for a statutory ban on phones in schools. After her daughter had been “completely addicted” to her phone and was getting into trouble at school as a result.Ms Ghey said she wanted funding for schools to lock phones in pouches through the school day after this was a success at Brianna’s old school in Warrington.The campaign has been backed by Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet.
