The coastguard also failed to locate him. Local police said a 31-year-old was later found lifeless on the shoreline.The UK Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Spain.”Footage uploaded to social media shows a crowd gathering on the beach as police arrived at the scene.Benidorm is a popular tourist destination for Britons, with more than 830,000 visiting last year, according to the Benidorm mayor.
